"£300 provides an opportunity for learners who are experiencing extreme hardship and have explored all other sources of financial assistance."
In the UK, many young people face significant financial
barriers to accessing and remaining in further education. Encouraging them to
stay in education and training is a proven method of addressing these negative
social indicators. The LRT has helped many of these young people through
targeted support provided at the right time.
"£750 can fund further education for a learner
who may otherwise be prevented from studying."
Some learners, for a variety of reasons, are
not eligible for student finance from the government. The LRT bursaries give learners the
opportunity to continue their studies when they might otherwise be prevented
from doing so due to financial hardship.
The LRT has awarded bursaries to learners in further education to help
with tuition fees, accommodation, travel and study.
"£2,500 provides 15 students with suitable clothing for job interviews and support with travel costs until they receive their first wage. £5,000 can help 30 students start an apprenticeship or a new job."
